Kumar and I drove to Uttokkottai yesterday (two hours out).   There I taught the lesson, Jesus, Master Teacher.   I shortened it a lot to get it finished in 3 hours with a tea break. Pastor D Paul is a very good translator; he was able to convey the humor that I intended to have in the lesson.   I believe the pastors understood the teaching methods we discussed. A few who spoke English commented that their training stresses what to teach more than how to teach and they liked to hear suggestions that I made.   I left out some material and I left out a part I needed later.  I was able to pick it up, but I had to check my notes to find it.

I had a little time to set up in front of the room.   I opened the computer to a slideshow of my home and family. They had me position it so they could all see.   The were amazed by the snow pictures and could not grasp grasp ice fishing. They started to ask questions about family, but we did not have time for that.

After my lesson time, Kumar took me back to Chennai while they had their business meeting.
I think there were 58 men there.   I am giving them a gift of a pen at the start, so I count how many pens are left to get a number.  I have met some of these pastors before, and I am trying keep the faces and names together.

Today we made the trip back and a I preached the sermon at D Paul’s church.   The sermon is from the last part of my lesson, Jesus and the Woman at the Well.   In the sermon I preach the story using the questioning method rather than analyze the method.   Again Pastor D Paul was able to convey the feelings of the story with me.

This the second day of a string of 8 one day trips to areas around Chennai. I think I will have a day of rest on next Sunday unless Pastor D Paul finds a way to have me preach again.

I have a technical problem.   My camera quit working so I have no pictures to add. Kumar took it to a Canon dealer.   I am expecting a call this evening and may need to get a new camera.   It fails to start or shuts off by itself.   I thought is was failing rechargeble batteries, but it isn’t.
