Hamro Gahr
Hamor Gahr means our home; it is what the children call the home provided by the Bitrakoti family and the HCLC to care for these 7 seven children. I spent a large part of 4 days with them. A holiday called Tihar, which has similarities to Christmas, occurred in my last week in Nepal. Most people visit family at this time and school is on holiday. So I did some fun educational activities with them. Bhaje is grandfather
We did research on maps and their neighborhood. Then we made a map to a store that sold groceries and candy. We used toothpicks to do addition and subtraction. Then we learned a magic toothpick trick and created pictures from the toothpicks. As an addition to the map we looked at mero gahr in the USA and hamro gahr in Nepal from Google maps on the computer and I showed pictures and video clips from my mountain view flight along the Himalaya Mountains.
After church on Saturday, we went to the zoo which is near the church.
The weather was beautiful and the zoo was crowded. We had a great time.
Pastor Raju, Brother Rajan, Binita and Menuka are the four who do most of the work in the orphanage. Binita was great at translating and helping me teach the children.
Now I am back in Minnesota adjusting to the time and weather. I have many experiences and many people to remember.
But this is not a finished picture. The people and experiences are part of a living, continuing existence in India and Nepal. Where will the Holy Spirit leads these people? Where will the Holy Spirit lead the CLC? Where will He lead me?
